The Landscape Design Process

It is recommended that clients fill out a questionnaire to give a clear picture of your desired outcomes and style preference.  It
serves as a helpful checklist that ensures every aspect of your landscape project is considered.

Ideally this can be emailed along with any images of your home and existing site or garden and inspiration from Pinterest or
Instagram you may have collected.  If you have house plans these are also helpful and save on further site measure and surveying.

Information regarding underground services and any council regulations that affect the design is also collected prior to meeting.

  • An Initial Consultation takes place onsite with Tanya to go over the practicalities of the design, where we discuss the best layout,
    taking the home and existing surroundings into consideration.

  • A client brief is developed outlining the desired outcomes and scope of the project.

  • A quote for the preparation of a landscape plan is provided.

  • On acceptance of the quote a detailed assessment of the site is done.

  • The site is measured up (where plans do not exist) orientation of the house and garden, existing structures, trees and plants to
    retain or remove, climate and microclimate, areas of sun and shade, slope and levels, drainage and soil type are noted.

  • A mood board and concept plan with options for the layout of main areas such as entertaining spaces, deckings, paving, pool,
    lawn, paths and garden beds.

  • All aspects of the design are discussed as we go with client input encouraged. Drafts can be emailed for discussion and
    amendments made as needed.

  • An online meeting can be arranged to discuss the design, where you can see the design on screen and move around the 3D
    model, changes can be made and options for different materials can be shown in real time making selections easier.

  • Plant selection and lighting options are then selected.

The design is then documented into a Master Plan

The master plan provides accurate information for your chosen landscape contractors to provide quotes and implement the
design.  We can help recommend contractors suited to your project.

Plans are full colour PDF, detailed 3–5 page A3 document that includes-

  • Site set out, levels and existing structures.

  • Hard landscape details with recommendations for materials.

  • Planting and Lighting plan with images.

  • 3D perspectives and elevations

  • Recommendations for soil, mulch and irrigation.

  • Pool design and safety barriers to comply with current Australian safety standards.
